- Context windowThe amount of text an AI assistant can hold in mind during a single conversation.
- TokenThe unit an AI model counts text in, usually a few characters long.
- Context engineeringChoosing and shaping what an AI model sees, rather than rewriting the question.
- GroundingTying an AI answer to specific source material you supplied.
- HallucinationA confident AI answer that is not supported by any real source.
- Knowledge cutoffThe date after which a model has no training knowledge.
- Retrieval-augmented generationFetching relevant documents and adding them to the prompt before the model answers.
- Readable content extractionPulling the main article text out of a page and discarding the furniture.
- DOMThe live structure of a web page as the browser holds it in memory.
- Browser extensionA small program that adds behaviour to your browser.
- Content scriptExtension code that runs inside a web page to read or change it.

- Extension permissionsThe specific browser capabilities an extension asks you to approve.
- TruncationCutting supplied text so it fits the model's limits.
- Prompt engineeringWriting the instruction so the model does what you meant.
- Clipboard APIThe browser interface for reading and writing the system clipboard.
- Prompt injectionText inside a document that tries to give the AI instructions instead of information.
- System promptThe standing instruction an assistant follows before it sees your message.
- EmbeddingA numerical representation of text that puts similar meanings close together.
- Chain of thoughtAsking a model to work through its reasoning before giving an answer.
- MultimodalA model that accepts more than text, typically images, audio or video.
- Service workerThe background script that runs an extension when no page is open to it.
- Host permissionsThe sites an extension is allowed to read, listed in its manifest.
- Context rotThe decline in answer quality as a conversation fills up with old, irrelevant material.
